City Thread is a national nonprofit. We envision a world where civic health enables communities to act together to make lasting progress. We do this to strengthen the relationships, processes, and resources people need to tackle ambitious challenges, deliver on promises, and shape their own future.

Trust creates the foundation for people with different perspectives and experiences to find common ground, build coalitions, and pursue shared interests. New partnerships emerge to identify what’s possible, combine strengths, and accomplish what no one could do alone.

The evidence is visible in the places people live: public spaces are open, streets are safe, homes are built, and streets, trails, and transit are improved, and people can point to something tangible and say, “We made that happen.” 

City Thread does this through its Playbook, a proven four-step approach that helps communities establish a shared goal, align the partnerships needed to carry it, resource the local champions doing the work, and build quickly. That means moving from planning to delivery fast enough that people can see progress and believe in what comes next.
